Widgets for Windows 11

Widgets the new signature feature for Windows 11 was created to give users a glance quick into their day, without them having to switch between devices and break their workflow.

I was the lead visual designer, creating a visual system and framework from the ground up to help partners build cohesive widgets, that felt clean, modern and most importantly native to the Windows 11 ecosystem.

Process included creating mood boards, vision designs, design guidance, art direction, branding guidance, grid logic, card sizes and user testing flows.

The visual design concept was to draw inspiration from everyday items, such as using the temperature to create soft color tint overlays on the widget base to create a sense of feeling at that given time of day- using warm tones for a warm day and cooler ones for a colder day.
